Youth Entrepreneurship and Cooperativism in Schools
Vision:
A shift from employment-seeking orientation to employment-creation culture by nurturing entrepreneurial and cooperative environment, skills, and competences.
Mission:
Equip students with entrepreneurial and cooperative skills and attitudes, and knowledge of entrepreneurship and cooperativism in order to evolve them into creative, innovative and responsible citizens capable of establishing their own business ventures, thereby providing more opportunities for self and others.
Program Objectives:
Generally, the program aims to:
a.Enhance the culture and instill the values of entrepreneurship and the formation of ideas and habits of cooperation among students;
b.Develop the personal entrepreneurial competencies (PECs) of students in the operation of a micro-business cooperative: and
c.Help alleviate poverty and encourage long-range economic development in the countryside through career enhancement program and provision of lifelong learning for productive living.
Specifically, the Program is designed to:
a.Institutionalize YECS Organizations among public and private high schools nationwide by establishing networks with private organizations and other government agencies having expertise in entrepreneurship and cooperativism;
b.Provide the students with specialized training and assistance on entrepreneurship and cooperativism for them to create their own sources of livelihood;
c.Expose the YECS members in different industries and technologies for them to create a base for their own business ventures within the school or in the future.
Expected Milestone:
After every year of implementation, it is hoped that;
•All planned activities have been carried out successfully at minimum coast and maximum gains.
•YECS members have leaned the theoretical foundation on entrepreneurship and cooperativism.
•YECS members have applied these concepts and theories through their business projects.
•YECS, as a whole, achieved the support of the government and the private sector to assist members and their entrepreneurial ectivities.
•YECS members have imbibed the needed values, attitudes and skills the sufficiently motivate them to aspire to become entrepreneurs and cooperators.
•The relevance of entrepreneurship and cooperativism in the economy is once again highlighted in the country.

Article I – Name
Youth Entrepreneurship and Cooperativsm in Schools (YECS) Program
Article II – Program objectives
A.Develop and cultivate a culture in entrepreneurship and cooperativism among YECS members.
B.Practice the value of cooperation and spirit of team work through the formation of small Enterprise.
C.Help alleviate poverty through career service enhancement program for IGP’s.
D.Make basic guide lines on basic skills for planning and operating a business and also as a ground work of a business plan.
Article III – Membership
The recruitment and screening system for the YECS Club shall be as follows:
A.Application for membership is open to high school students regardless of year level and academic standing for which an application form shall be accomplished with the signed consent of their parents.
B.Applicants shall be screened through an extensive interview with the YECS and school-based moderator and one local management committee member.
C.Selected members of the YECS club shall accomplish a membership form, for which they are entitled to a certificate of membership upon submission.
Article IV – Fees and Contribution
A. Free membership for qualified applicant.
B. Members shall give 20% of his total income/profit as build up capital for any project the club has to undertake.
Article V – Attendance
A.Any member shall be subjected to disciplinary provision after having absent without valid reason for five (5) consecutive meetings.
B.Continues absences of members under disciplinary condition is reason for his automatic dismissal from the club.
Article IV – Duties and Responsibilities
President:
A. Presides over and conducts meeting.
B. Follow up any activities and checks on progress being made.
C. Coordinates club efforts by keeping in close touch with all other officers and members.
D. Calls up meeting whenever necessary.
Vice President:
A.Assist the president.
B.In the absent of the president he should preside and assume the duties and responsibilities of the president.

*Teen NeGOsyo University
The 4th YECS Entrepreneurship Training and Conference has been dubbed as “Teen NeGOsyo University” under the GO NEGOSYO Campaign. It was held at the Teachers Camp, Baguio City last July 26 – 31, 2009. It is where Young Entrepreneur nurture their entrepreneurial skills by learning the right tactics and procedure in making a business plan.
*Community Outreach
The YECS club advisers, together with its members held a Feeding Program during Nutrition Month last July 17, 2009 at Brgy. Dayao, Roxas City. It is the way of YECS in helping and making the pre-schoolers not only satisfy their hunger but also bring enjoyment and fun.

*Trade Fair
It was held at the Nutrition Center last August 25, 2009. In YECS Trade Fair, the students in technology and Livelihood Education showcase their products in a specific field, where Home Economics Students presented their culinary skills by exhibiting their homemade fresh delights. And Dressmaking Students held a contest to showcase their astonishing designer clothes.
*Symposium on Proper Nutrition
During the Nutrition Month last July 10, 2009, a symposium was held at Capiz National High School Covered Gym. In this symposium the lecturers brought infos for students to know the proper nutrition and proper care for our health.
